The following was written on Oct. 31, 2020, the Saturday night before the election. I then posted it on Facebook, the first posting since about February 2017 from Vietnam.
At some point after next Tuesday night, all of the votes will eventually be tabulated. There will be some who will be glad and some who will be sad. This will not be a time for those who are pleased to scorn those who feel despair, nor will it be the time for anger and revolt from those who feel frustrated by the results. This will need to be a time for healing and acceptance, not further strife and division. I challenge you to join me in this perspective and choose a path of peace with others by listening.
