[This article is an exception in that my grandfather Jesse Hibbard did NOT write this. I (Al) wrote it to help explain other people that Jesse mentions and to provide some context for them. Here, I sometimes add a link to FamilySearch.org that gives more information about the person.]
Michael Bretz was born in Germany in 1863 and died in an auto-train collision in 1920. He had two farms, somewhat near the Hibbard farm, but likely north, in Benton County. [More details forthcoming when researched.] His obituary describes him as a dairyman. Jesse worked for him during some summers.
Robert Bretz was born in the St. Cloud area (perhaps rural Benton County) in November 1890 and died in California in 1964. He was about 3 years older than Jesse, and they did things together.
Alois Bromenschenkel was born on 21 May 1891 and likely born just a mile north of where we grew up. His father owned the NW quarter of section 3, right on the Sherburne/Benton county line. I believe I remember the bus would go by their house, at the top of a steep hill (as one goes north). He died on 31 Aug 1929 at his home and had been ill for some time. Grampa used to do some hunting with Alois and references him several times.

Elizabeth Cecelia Doyle was born on 4 October 1893 in St. Cloud, Stearns, Minnesota and died 7 March 1933 in St. Cloud. She was a friend of Jesse
Haner D Hoblitt was born on 19 Mar 1885 in the Monticello, MN area. He died on 23 Oct 1967 in Hamilton, MT. According to Wildlife in this area (by Jesse), he lived with his family from 1902 to 1904 as a hired hand. His father, apparently, lived close to Abraham Lincoln. I think I have a photo of him.
