We continued to drive through the night. I took over driving at about 2 when we got gas in Underwood, Iowa, about 15 to 20 miles from the IA/NE border. I drove us to Pella, arriving about 4:30 a.m. It was 82 inside the house and so I turned on the air conditioning. After 5-10 minutes or so, we were both in bed and getting to sleep. My neighbor's noisy dogs woke us both up at about 7:00. It was so frustrating for both of us since we needed so much more sleep. I emptied out my things from the truck and Norm helped me. As he was getting ready to get in and head out, he asked about the experience and I said it was a "fun experience". He came back with a partial correction, declaring it was an "awesome experience", with which I agreed.
