Obituary for Marcia Lynn Hopkins (Hibbard)
Marcia Hibbard, age 63, went home to be with her Lord on July 28, 2019, at her cabin in Itasca County, Minnesota, after a fight with cancer. She enjoyed her last days in and on the water at her favorite location, which she had enjoyed over the last 44 years.
Marcia Lynn Hopkins was born on March 29, 1956, in Hays, Kansas, to Harold and Pauline (Felter) Hopkins. After graduating from St. Cloud State University in 1978, she married Allen Hibbard. Marcia taught elementary education for several years and then home-schooled for several years, followed by working in child care and doing various volunteer activities.
Marcia is survived by her husband, Al; children Tim (Chelsea), Carrie (Daniel), and Christina (Alex); and five grandchildren; as well as her siblings, David, Norman, Nona, and Jolene. Her parents predeceased her.
A special thanks to both the Pella and Itasca County hospices. Memorials may be given to an endowed scholarship honoring Marcia at Central College or to Third Reformed Church, both of Pella, Iowa. A memorial service at the Auditorium at Third will be held August 9 at 2:00 pm.
