[This is an item that my grandfather Jesse Hibbard wrote (and typed) in 1970. My (Al) role was to first transcribe it, next to add corrections or clarifications [within brackets], and then to add links to people connected to me (that gives more information), links to give more information about places, and for those mentioned but not connected, I sometimes added links to FamilySearch.org.]

Strange Incidents, and little tales - J.E.H
5. Once I caught two quail in a trap at one time. I had corn scattered around the trap and on the treadle. I suppose that one was standing inside the jaws of the trap when the other one picked at a kernel of corn on the treadle, causing the trap to spring, catching both, one by the leg and the other by the head. I guess no one believes this but it is true, happening the winter of 1904-05 I think. [age 11] I caught several quail by the cornstalks that winter.
