The heading above is the title of a book that was recommended to me last summer. I found it on my library's Libby app and listened to the audio version of this book by Pulitzer Prize author Anthony Doerr while at the cabin that summer. In short, it is a book set in World War II focusing on a German boy and a French girl, discussing their lives in parallel and then as they collide. I found this historical fiction book very captivating and the author simply makes you feel and smell the things in their lives. Having missed a few things on the first time, I listened to it again, which helped. Since I couldn't "hear" the spelling of the French names of places and ideas very well, I decided to read the paper version of the book and follow along where these characters went. I heartily recommend this book.
